Aurum Collective

Custom inventory and order management application.

Replaced a spreadsheet workflow that had scaled past its limits.

Aurum had outgrown their inventory process. Orders were tracked in a spreadsheet shared across three people, with no audit trail and no reliable stock visibility. Errors were routine. The cost of the errors wasn't.

The solution was a purpose-built web application: custom data model, role-based access, real-time stock levels, and an order management flow designed around how their team actually worked — not around a generic template.

The prototype was running in their environment before any final commitment was made. They reviewed it, requested changes, and we iterated. The final system replaced the spreadsheet entirely.

what was done

The work, in detail.

01

Process mapping

Walked through the existing spreadsheet workflow in detail. Identified where errors originated and what the actual requirements were before touching any code.

02

Data model design

Designed a schema around their product catalogue, locations, and order states. Written, agreed, and signed before development began.

03

Prototype in their environment

A working prototype deployed to their infrastructure. Not a demo — a real system they could use before committing to the full scope.

04

Iteration and handover

Three rounds of revisions based on real use. Documentation written for non-developers. Training session with the full team.

"The AI integration he built for us replaced two hours of daily manual work. I was skeptical going in. I'm not anymore."
